Still Cool Friends,
One night I had an itch. It was about 9:45pm and I’d just arrived home from a two-drink minimum with my friend Gavin. I wanted to watch the classic Christian Slater film, Pump Up the Volume. A classic of 1989. TV turned on. Netflix, fail. Hulu, fail. Amazon Prime, fail. Internet, fail. What the f? What is a 21st-century digital boy to do with the local Blockbuster Video to save me? Sadly, I popped one more beer, turned on some mindless crap and ventured onto Amazon to order the movie on DVD. Less than a dollar (purchase not shipping), later and I was 5-12 day away (not Prime eligible), from actually watching the film.
So when it arrived, I was giddy. Called Gavin up and headed over to watch a hidden gem of 80’s teenage cinema.
Listen to our story and leave us a comment. We’d love to continue this conversation.
Stay Cool Friends!

Siouxie Sioux or Demi Moore; take your pick. Did I win? Did I win???
Got me feeling nostalgic about 80’s movies. Very good recap of Pump Up The Volume. I had forgotten about this movie. This one is in my top 5 (for the 80’s) along with The Goonies and Breakfast Club! So, yes, it’s #StillCoolRight (damn right!). Good job, guys. By the way, I really need to see Gavin in that turtle neck under the sweater photo. 80’s forreal! 🙂
Thanks Tami! Who is your favorite short haired girl of the 90’s? That’s the questions that wins you a FREE DVD copy of this unstreamable classic. The turtleneck picture comes with the DVD. Ha!
You said “hottest short haired girl of the 90s” on the podcast! I cry foul! Also, if this movie came out in 1990 then it was filmed in 1988/1989, so it really should be hottest/favorite short haired girl of the late 80s/early 90s.
I have too much time on my hands, clearly.
Oh yeah! Forgot about the actual question. Hmmm…I’ll say Molly Ringwald.
